PRESS RELEASE

Indofunk Network Presents "Spectacle" Art Show

Smyrna, Delaware, Apr. 7, 2008 – The Indofunk Network (http://indofunk.net) today announced that it will be continuing Spectacle, a monthly art show featuring the work of local artists, on Saturday, April 19, 2008 from 8 PM until 1 AM. The event will be hosted at the City Tap in downtown Smyrna and showcase works by Dave DeHart (York, PA) and Sue Ellen Irrgang (Dover, DE). The night will also feature indie/dance/rock/electro/folk music selections by Blaze & Youngers, live performances by original local bands The Glorious Filaments (York, PA) and Deaf Not Dead (Newark, DE), and a special Disruptive event upstairs featuring Scott Nyce (Disruptive Recordings), DJ Sola (Red Sun Recordings / Disruptive Recordings), and Eric Best (Zero Hour Radio). Spectacle is an effort to introduce a fresh style of entertainment to the area that is traditionally available only in larger metropolitan cities. The City Tap is located at 19-21 W. Commerce St. and can be reached at 302.659.2090.

Dave DeHart is a photographer, musician, and self-proclaimed computer geek currently residing in York, PA. His first big break occurred in Las Vegas in the early 80's after his painful nine hour delivery in a nondescript hospital just off the strip. From Vegas, he was whisked off to such hot spots as Belgium, Louisiana, Wisconsin, and Delaware, courtesy of his father's twenty year stint in U.S. Air Force. Dave currently lives an almost tragic corporate existence by day, serving the remaining term of his indentured servitude at the world's largest dental company. Outside of the 8 to 5 drudgery, however, he exercises his artistic side to fend off the ever-present threat of corporate indoctrination. When not hunting for curious angles and abstract subject matter, he enjoys playing in York-based band, The Glorious Filaments, consistently rotating instruments in a manner that would make any volleyball coach proud. He is to this day unable to choose between Life cereal and Cocoa Pebbles if offered both.

Sue Ellen Irrgang is an experimental, self-taught artist, working mostly in acrylics on canvas. If the painting isn't abstract, the thought behind it is."Art gives more to me than I can ever hope to give back. I like the journey, discovering things as I go. I don't ever want to know everything about it, I want this one passion to last as long as I live. More than anything, I just want my work to be accessible, to convey emotion and humanity. It's about the things we all have in common."

The Glorious Filaments (http://www.myspace.com/thegloriousfilaments) initially emerged from a longstanding collaboration between guitarists Jeremy Patterson and Mike Frey. The addition of drummer Scott Roberts in the summer of 2004 catalyzed an intrinsic chemistry that had been merely fermenting for years. After two years of writing and amping up the central Pennsylvania music scene, a serendipitous online encounter produced consummate musician Dave DeHart who took on bass duties (following the departure of The Filaments' original bassist) and seamlessly grafted his own unique elements to the band's sound. Since early 2007, The Glorious Filaments have been riding a steady apotheosis-bound trajectory bolstered by two top-3 nominations in the 2007 Central PA Music Awards, substantial press coverage, and the top spot in a local, 14-week battle of the bands competition—an accomplishment that afforded them the opportunity to record their debut album Silent Use of Algorithm.

Deaf Not Dead (http://www.myspace.com/deafnotdead) delivers amiable bombastic indie rock from around the way. The group came together in early 2007 (with former members of Lolita Nation, Young Vulgarians, Pale, the Funeral Shoes, and others) and can usually be found lurking in the foothills of Philadelphia-- specifically the college town/oasis of Newark, Delaware-- with occasional ventures into the city itself. Sometimes there's keyboards and sometimes there's saxophones. Sometimes there's harmonies too but there's nearly always guitars, drums... and amps.

Spectacle is free for all ages until 10 PM. After 10 PM a $5 cover will be charged. Artwork will be available at 8 PM, and live band performances will begin at 10 PM. For more information visit http://indofunk.net/spectacle/.
